What would be the usual fuel economy for a 96 300TDi wagon? Both on-road and off-road.

Depends if you have got a HyClone fitted :D Nah - only joking ....

Ours averages almost exactly 10Km/Litre all day every day up hills and down dale. Off road it will be higher (like 12-14L/100 in sand), but still pretty good for such a big vehicle.

Agree more like 28 to 30 mpg in the old money . But they use so little for the size of car and the fact they are perminate 4x4. That i never even really bother to check. All i know is our 110 is alot better on fuel than the Auto 300 tdi Disco we had before

You forgot to include "kilometres I get out of a tank before I decide to fill up." :p

That is the only measure of fuel consumption that some people seem to be able to understand. :p

Those figures are very close to what I get.

On my old Disco 1998 Tdi the economy @ speeds up to 95 kph was 9lt per 100km Over 95 kph then was about 11 l per 100km

On my 1994 Defender I get 10lt per 100 km at speeds up to 95kph and about 12 lt per 100km over that (never gp over 120 kph with both vehicles.

Towing 1 ton trailer the comsumtion was about 13lt per 100 on the Disco.

Both vehicles have an engine with less than 200000 km and are manual.

In my 1996 tdi I get about 9.5L/100km when doing under 100. Driving from brisbane to cairns i got about 11L/100km and when towing a 12 x 6 enclosed trailer over the weekend that acted somewhat as a parachute i got about 12.5-13L/100km

If you don't try and push it to 100kph then 8.5 - 10 L/100km. I've got 1980km to 180L (slightly less than a tank of fuel - its got 200L of fuel capacity). Wish the Puma was that good:(
