HI,
I am looking to get some 8" rims for my 90.
Now here is the problem... I am getting all sorts of advice locally regarding the offset to run.
The way I have measured it I can extend outwards with the tyre 25-30mm max from std boost alloys and still be under the guards.
That on an 8" rim would mean an offset of say +20mm instead of +33mm on the 7" rims.(13mm more offset and 1/2" more wheel width= approx 26mm more outside than std):(
Anyone agree? But various people here in WA are saying that +3mm on an 8"
will fit under my guards... cant see how? But need to know.
Any advice greatly recieved.
Cheers

Take a look here (http://www.ventureoverland.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=104&Itemid=52) for info on wheel offsets.
I run 16x7 TX rims with a -4mm offset and 255x85 BFG MTs. If they stuck out a fraction more they'd be outside the arches.
In 16x8 form, the TXs are available with +3mm or +20mm offset
Hope that helps.

Hi John,
So by my calculations your -4 offset 16x7's are 37mm further out than std?
So a +3mm offset 16x8 will absolutely be outside the guards.
So +20mm must be the one then.

That set my head alite thinking about that this early in the morning!! But yes, you are right!
The bigger the +ve offset, the further inbound the wheel is.

Jon
