Does anyone here, know of a chemical that does a realy good job of cleaning aluminium, like roof racks and bull bars, etc? I,ve got a roof rack with lots of black mould on it, and i need something strong to remove it.
Many thanks, in advance.

Caustic soda will get rid of the problem... well it will get rid of the aluminium at least:eek:
Seriously though have a look in one of the automotive parts places for a metal cleaner for Aluminium. These products have been tamed down a lot in the last 10 years though and so require a little more elbow grease than they did when they were nice and toxic.
The other thing is if its just mould and bare aluminium, try Demestos and a scotch pad but only if the items aren't on the car as it may harm the paint work.

Mixture of salt and vinegar is good, rub it on with a coarse cloth or Scotchbrite then hose it off.
