G'day All,
Went to the Mudgeeraba Show yesterday and paid/ parked on the grass at the church across the road. I got to put Smokey in low range :D. They were turning around "normal" cars as was now deemed 4WD territory only. In front of me a "4wd" Cayenne...with its 20inch bling rims had to turn around as well.
Anyway had a great day at the show and came back to the carnage. Ford Territorys sitting there....all wheels just spinning....a BMW sedan....stuck to the axles.....a commodore being pushed along to no avail. Jumped in Smokey.....packed 4 kids, Sharlea and her dad into Smokey ( stuck the diff lock on....jusssstttttt in case). Bloke in the mini tractor asked if I'd be ok...."No worries mate....its a Land Rover". Reversed out.....bit of wheel spin, then proceeded to wind my way around all the stranded vehicles . Thats whats great about a 4WD...will get you from A-B....like any other vehicle....but then unlike most vehicles...will also get you to C,D and out of the S ;).
I would have liked to come back and helped recover some of the vehicles....but to be honest...with them being sedans....didnt know how one would have and didnt want to risk damage to Smokey. Would be good to know....as I did ( and always do) have my recovery gear with me.
Regards
