Occasionally when driving the Rangie:twisted: *cough....Hard .....Cough*
inside the cabin I can smell what appears to be Aromas of Roasted Chest Nuts :p ( I read this somewhere on the Forum ...) would this Indicate that my Torque converter is getting too Hot ? may be inadequate Oil cooling ? I got underneath and one of the Cooler Lines has slight bit of Oil drip exactly where the Hose meet the Crimped connection to alli pipes...if I can call it that ..

Am I loosing Oil pressure somwhere ?? Is it Time for the particular Oil cooler line to be replaced ???

Strange that you mention this.

In my 75 2-door, with 3.5 and LT95, I often get a sickly sweet, nutty smell drifting through the vehicle. Haven't been able to trace it.

Could be a stoner, hiding in the back under all my junk. :D

I can't say this the case with mine thou , I have no Junk in the back of my rangie ,only some Tools. My Rangie is spotless inside.

it's got me a bit worried as time-time it seems something inside the ZF isn't happy:( I'll try changing the Said Oil cooler Line and Drain the Oil out and put fresh new oil in to see how that holds up.

That Rangie still has 3.54 gears and 285/75s yea? The torque converter may not be stalling up in city driving. They make some heat if laboured etc.

I think you've hit the nail on the head  it seems after a while of being laboured along that the torque converter starts heating up quite a bit. yeah the diff ratio is 3.54. I need to get them 4.11 's in soon.

Sorry but I reckon those are conkers (horse chestnuts) not the roasting variety, the roasting ones are sweet chestnuts - different shape and a lot more edible :D

If you think its heating up pull it down a gear so feels free to drive and see if it goes away... If your keeping the auto you may need a larger cooler . A P38 cooler would help.

Is there any mods required with a p38 cooler on a RRC , if not I will definitely consider it , seeing both our rangies are gonna have a blower on em soon.:D

Quite possibly. I've never seen chestnuts, I picked that pic up with a Google image search
