You were lucky to get the car into Darwin Mitsu,I was told I would have to wait 3 weeks before they would even look at mine..Maybe the terrorists have started to leave town before the build up.
Enjoy the trip back to Gove
Cheers Ean
PS..We may be calling into Gove for fuel at the end of the month.We have about 30 days fuel left.( if Perkins let us on the wharf).If I get a chance to get up town I'll keep an eye out for the Defender.

We are now home!

11 hours to drive in from Katherine. Track was reasonably OK apart from between about 100km and 50km from Gove where it was OMG:eek:

Keep an eye out for us if you get to Town Ean. Remember I also have a white Tdi Defender with the rego ROVER.

As for Darwin Mitsubishi, I booked it 4 weeks before hand whilst we were still over in WA.

Derek,
After your stop over at my place I am Keen on getting a new Puma.
My question is;
Now that you have finished your trip, if you had your time over again would you still buy the Puma?

Dave.

That's a good question and a hard one to answer.

I must admit that the Puma has definitely proved up to the trip and I wouldn't hesitate to do the trip again in the Puma or any other Defender or earlier. There is just something about a 60 year old design that makes it seem like a bigger adventure and the comments and looks we got on the road back this up.

Would I buy it again, I think I probably would... though I'd also like a TDV8 RR;)
