Hey guys, I got myself an alloy steering/sump guard from opposite lock (the dolium one) for my 09 PUMA
Anyway long story short, it should just be a simple bolt-on job. However I bolted up the brackets and the plate is at least 15mm out. I contacted oppsite lock and they sent another one over under suspicion of faulty brackets, and the same result.
Now I do have an ARB bar fitted - which shouldnt cause a problem. And my chassis is perfect compared to other PUMAS
Has anyone had this problem?? Does anyone have one of these plates fitted to their deefer around brisbane I can have a look at over the weekend??
Its got opposite lock (who have looked at it themselves) myself, father and Dolium Perth dumb-founded.
I have sent photos to everyone and no-one has an answer. :(
Any help would be appreciated!
Much thanks, JNR scarry

Send your query to Gordon at the opposite lock store in Sydney rockdale..I'm positive he fitted one to Xaviers 07 Puma and I'm sure he has done others...to ask him if he actually modified it to fit or not.
perhaps you have been sent one to fit a disco or something...perhaps they have a batch that are marked for a defender but are actually the wrong ones

well after looking at Scollops PUMA today - thank you!
The main reason the plate wouldnt fit is because my chassis rails is an avg. of 10mm narrower than his.
We did get the plate on by drilling the brackets out to near the edges.
Thanks guys for your help and Scollops for his time today :)

Glad to be able to help you, Justin - next time you head out this way maybe I can persuade you to stay for a cuppa and some cake. :)

I'm still trying to get my head around "an average of 10mm narrower than his".:o
Why would two vehicles of the same make and model have chassis rails with a 10mm variance - :(
Time to have a glass of red and ponder the meaning of life I think.
