View Full Version : PTO LT230 adaptor for Hyd pump - now that MaxiDrive has closed

I am investigating the viability of converting my 130 winch from a Warn 9500 (seen better days) to something Hydraulic.

After a bit of searching I have found out that MaxiDrive used to produce an adaptor for the LT230 (http://www.aulro.com/afvb/technical-chatter/26580-lt-230-pto-speed.html).

Anyone know if I can still get something like this in Australia?

Does anyone have one of these in their shed they are not using, that they'd like to sell?

I've found a company in UK (4x4 winches) that produce a replica of the MaxiDrive unit, but would prefer to get one locally if possible.

Thanks
David

Just in case anyone else is going down this path, I emailed Barry from Hi-Tough with this question, and he has replied as below:

David G'day,
Thankyou for your enquiry re PTO. I worked for Mal and Paula (Maxi Drive)
and when they retired at the end of '07 I took over making the axles and
drive flanges. Another business took over all the other things that Maxi Drive
were making. they are near Brisbane and make the PTO unit.

And just another follow up.

Spoke to the people at M R Auto, and they can supply the PTO adaptor and pump.

Prices are: $552 for the PTO adaptor
and: $508 for the pump.

David

did you manage to find what you are looking for?

I am in South Africa and over here there are nothing. What exactly is the name of that UK based firm that does the Maxidrive replica?

In the end I found a bloke (Bush65 - from here) up in QLD who had a 2nd hand one for sale.

I only found the people in the UK via some searching, but I have not dealt with them: 4x4winches.com - Truth Not Opinion (http://4x4winches.com/index.php?page=winch_systems.htm)

See the Phase 3 setup on the page above.

I think I emailed them about pricing, but the shipping to Adelaide was pretty steep from memory.

Does the above link help at all?

Cheers
David
