If you buy it ...
you will love it ... but ...
It will own you!
If you're happy to be owned by a beautiful property ...
And you can afford it ...
Then you should buy it.
If you don't want to be owned by a piece of property ...
Then you shouldn't buy it ...
no matter how beautiful it is!
Even if you can afford it.

What are the rates there and likely capital gain would be my concern. Can you rent or lease it, may be use it as business:D Make a nice office for meetings:angel:
Never ceases to amaze me.... I like to visit the big smoke for a change and the others cant wait to get out!

If the road is in peanut country, then I know a (shed) builder that would gladly provide some building services to "enhance" you storage facilities in exchange for some playtime and a camping site.

I imagine the internet will be crap. Satelite?
I know that people who live in country TAS can get a government subsity for satelite internet. Does that exist in country QLD? They were paying something like $30/mnth for 100GB!!!

doesnt look much but there has been some hard yakka go into getting these two poles in place
the original quote for ergon toput power on, $15,500
the eventual cost after a few backbreaking weekends clearing a 170mitre long x 10 mitre wide frontage, a couple of cartons and $200 for fuel.. and some badly acheing bones :P
glad that part is over :p
a new saga commences

next post along...
top wires (not there yet, this week i imagine) are the main and the bottom are the return from the transformer to us..
two of us sharing a 25kva i believe..
will take two weeks to get the street wiring in the way they have been going thus far...

Then i guess you have an overhead supply along those poles you put in, then mains fuse box on the last pole then underground to the shack?

Then i guess you have an overhead supply along those poles you put in, then mains fuse box on the last pole then underground to the shack?
the ironbark in the foreground is my property pole.
then 175 mteres of underground to the shack..
might put a builders box on it till i get the cable, conduit and trench sorted...
Vern
7th December 2009, 07:47 PM
175metres of underground is a fairly long way, huge voltage drop. What sort of amps will you be requiring, i'll do the voltage drop calc for you for cable selection. how many phases?
