Got sick of waiting

Ok, well I was due to board the spirit of tasmania on the 9th, couldnt wait so I paid the $30 and now sailing out of tassie on the 7th. Just doing the last minute trip stuff. New rear brake pads, new rear wheel beerings (looked like new when I pulled them out, thought it had a rough spot), cheecked trans and gearbox, changed diff oils. Trying to get a new battery, may have to wait until Perth.
Arriving in Perth about Sunday to spend a week with my daughter before heading and doing the gunbarrel highway.
Will post the odd trip to date report and maybe some pics as I go.

how much to go over BB when I looked at coming over with the dogs I was looking at $2000 ouch!!! thats why I had to put off the tassie trip as couldn't afford it :(

thats why we going to reno air races instead :lol2: but we get cheap flights....anyone want to meet us at reno?

From memory I think the vehicle was $78 and the ocean view recliner is around the $100 one way, havnt booked the return trip yet.
I dont like to sleep in the cabins (feel a bit enclosed) so I sleep on the 8th deck on the bench seats and roll out the sleeping bag. Not supposed to do it but if you dont kip down untill about 11pm the security guys normally leave you alone.

One of my fav trips is to take the Spirit of Tassie on a day trip. Sit on the back deck, with drink of choice, just watching the ships wake trail off into the distance.

10 hours of pure bliss. Magic.:cool:

If you go in the "off season" they almost pay you to go.
