I like in the 2nd pic where they have it attached to the safety chain eye on the tow bar. Would it not be safer to pass the recovery strap into the recevier and use the recevier pin?

"Now with pointy bits at both ends, for easier skull penetration for either the recoverer or the recoveree!"
Why would you even think of that?

Cool!
Now imagine having 30 of those things hooked up with some light twine between 2 vehicles at a show:twisted:. Medieval warefare at it's best.

Quick, someone repackage an electrical extension lead as a snatch strap and sell it on that forum :D

I would have thought that the 'engineer' who designed the tool, would have opposed the two hooks, forming an S .... I must keep a look out for users of this, tool!

Damn some people are just stupid. Sure you could use it a 100 times and not havve anything go wrong, but its that off chance that once of the straps breaks then that thing becomes a missile.
And whats wrong with using a rolled up magazine...just as effective and much safer.

Wow, that could do some damage on the end of a loaded snatch strap! Ive seen several recovey points pull out of there mounts and do damage, why would anyone want to risk it like that?

as long as they are finding better ways to kill themselves, I'm happy for the yanks to use as many of these little time bombs as they like.

:TIC: Here we go: -
The SnatchPower (TM) strap gives a 200% increase in pulling power and a 1500% reduction in recovery stress. Extra power is gained by operating an Electron Chain (R). The Electron Chain (R) system uses your vehicle's on-board power to both push and pull electrons through the strap. This double action gives double pulling power through the strap. Our advance technology also allows the Electron Chain (R) to provide winching action for recovery in some situations. Almost unbelievably, it simply connects to the trailer socket on your vehicle for maximum versatility.
The Electron Chain (R) also reduces recovery stresses by dividing them onto individual electrons. These are permitted to accelerate rapidly through the strap, thereby immediately relieving stress. This allows the 'SnatchPower 10' (TM) strap to be rated to 10,000lbs, whilst being much thinner, saving space.
The heavy duty option is the 'SnatchPower 15' (TM) which is rated to 15,000lbs.
Multiple SnatchPower (TM) straps will easily connect together with the simple plug system to create a longer and more powerful strap when required.
For only $99.50, the SnatchPower (TM) strap is an essential part of any driver's recovery kit. Get yours today.

Wow, this is really insightful! If you are ever in Vic, please let me know as I would love to buy you a beer so we can discuss your true feelings about "yanks".

well I wouldn't use it between 2 slings like that because I could see it coming through my back window when it slips of one end from the Toyota I am towing.
Seems like 'one step forward and two steps back' replacing one shackle with two hooks that weighs twice as much, that you can't secure properly.

seen this on a few sites, the 4wdaction guys actually sent a very well drafted email to the magazine publisher pointing out the dangers of use, not sure if they have a response yet.
hard to believe someone would consider that safe....
