View Full Version : THE GUMBOOT HAS ARRIVED

Busman
8th July 2009, 12:16 PM
Finally the Gumboot has arrived from Sydney.
Drives very well and in pretty good order.
It has some goodies that will be helpful for next trip :)
ARB Bullbar, ARB Lift kit with Old Man Emu Gassies etc, ARB Rear air locker,
Pollyair rear air through coil suspension (Self adjusting with valves each side)< Front end mods, BF Mudterrains all round with two extra spares, Duel batteries etc etc.
The reason for a TDi is simple, the vehicle had an empty tank when we started ex Sydney, Put $70.00 in it and off we went. Topped up at Taree another $50.00. When we arrived at home still had just under half a tank of fuel.
All running gear seems to be good and engine still strong.
Plenty of oil leaks around the usual places.
Few battle scares, but no doubt more to come???
Just need some rock sliders to go on.
Will give Fraser a run for it first trip:thumbsup:

Sorry guys, you may have to scroll across for photos, as l stuffed it up !!!

cool,
nice truck,
those side bars at the front look daggy,
can i have them?

sorta might stop some things bumping into me again.

you bl oody diesel owners,
stop putting up those fuel consumption figures.

anyhow, i don't care,
your little oil burner can't pull the skin off a rice pudding,
and can't give a commodore a run for its money off the lights,

and it rattles, and i don't like you, and i think your lying about the fuel consumption and i don't like anna bligh either.

but i like v8's,
and you bought a really nice truck.
well done.

Looks pretty tidy for $5K and moderatley equipped. Still cheaper that a D3 to throw around on trips.

You are so right, nothin like a V8 (No question)
I would of surely bought a V8 Rangie or Disco if the rego and fuel was not so high. (Fun Nazzie Anna Bligh to blame)>
But you cant not be happy with the milage figures of these things !!
In relation to power off the lights, old Gumboot is crap !!:p
Got a few things to sort with her, but should be able to go on the Dare coming up.
Might have to bring the navi with me this time to keep off the xxx tracks !!:D:D:D

HI Matt,
The interiors really good (surprisingly(, and all electrics work fine.
Not a bad unit all round, with just a cam belt due now for replacement
