So does that mean that they are finally extending the lineup to include all of the variations that are available in the UK?

For those who haven't received an invite, approach your local dealer & see if you can attend one of these drive days. They're supposed to be for VIP type customers (yeah, like we're not ;)) but if they don't have enough numbers, they might let you attend.

I'm sure someone from here attended the original PUMA driveday at Cattai a couple of years ago after asking their local dealer.

I think I might go.I'd recommend the wine tasting AFTER the driving :).

The FL2 dealer drives were held at Sirromet too back in July 2007.

Make sure you warm it up before you drive it and push the clutch in before you start it and fillter your deasel and ect ect. Land Rover please Get the product up to scratch before you blow your trumpet. So close. Maybe a fix soon?

Yeah - got my invite for Riverside Oaks in about a weeks time (in North Western Sydney) today.

I'd go, but my 6 week old Puma still has technicians scratching their heads over whats wrong, and it probably won't be back on the road by then (parts are out of stock in England for one problem, but they don't know what the other error code from the computer means !!!...)

Maybe I should go, and take the ****ty hire car I have begged out of them with me...

(Sorry, I am a bit upset with LR Aust..)

I've decided to go to this, it seems like a good afternoon out. I'll book tomorrow.

I understand that the Puma has definitely had its share of issues and I'll see if I can get some honest response from LR regarding what owners are experiencing.

you will get good responses...as the owners with the problems get filtered straight to the Indian call centre. :lol2:

Its only 5034 Km from here almost as far away as the closest useful dealer.
Must admit I just drove 2500 Km to the closest competent Land Rover Specialist this week. ( thanks to Whyatts in Geraldton well worth the trip)
Were Back is a stupid statement there was better dealer coverage in the 1960s.
A sad state of affairs for one of the best products made

:) Yes - and perhaps it's just coincidence - but if you do these simple things, perhaps some of the issues can be avoided.

I received one as well, but will be driving back from Grafton on Tuesday(Groan) I would have driven down from Mudgee to go as there are so many questions to ask and I want to crawl over a 130 crew cab. Any info placed here from anyone who does go will be most welcome. I like the 110 ute back also, but wonder just how much room is in the tub (with mudguards and spare?).

I didn't say your issue - simply some of the issues. The points that Allan mentions in his reply, obviously in a humorous way, have all been discussed on this forum, in part, in the context of "why should we have to do these things" etc. This implies that these procedures may not have been followed. I'm simply extrapolating the clear corollary of this observation.

I don't know you - so I can not, nor would I, suggest you are a bad driver. :)

As I have stated on numerous occasions - I'm wishing you all the best with your vehicle.

Sure sure I totally understand what your saying:)...I'm just pointing out although a good point just becasue a few fail to follow procedure doesn't mean everyone isn't, a number are still having the problem not just here in oz....thats all. thats why I think although probably helps quite posibly is not the stand alone cure/prevention

Just tell them it's a 1959 model rather than a 2009. There's really no difference, appearance wise ;).

I here ya DullBird and the pits did their utmost to fail my defender for smoking, but that was just a visual thing, how can the judgement by eye be considered for an RDA that is not very professional, if they really wanted to pull me up they should have taken a sample by sticking an emission sampler up the exhaust pipe as they would for the Ministry Of Transport certificate in the 'old country' that gives you a read out of particles per million etc.
What gearbox is in the new fenders ?
