thanks very much
Seems so strange as not only has my HF stopped transmitting but my UHF is doing the same. Seems I can recieve ok but I talked until I was blue in the face. They are both hooked to the same battery via the correct fuse (seperate leads) and the guy that fitted my new battery did ark the positive, that may have something to do with it
cheers

Thanks for all the help and links etc, I ended up buying another one out of brisbane and going to airfrieght it over. I talked to David (the guy I got the first one off and we did some checks and at that point I decided that this was the best solution. I will be ging the old one to my future son inlaw and he can have it repaired at his leisure.
cheers

A good idea, don't want to be taking risks with comms, especially where you are off to.

Don't forget if you get to the coast, Coral Bay and the Ningaloo reef road to Cape Range and over the tip to Exmouth is a must do!!:D
