Does anyone have any good suggestions on ways to bring some life back into all the black plastic surrounds on the Flandy ? Mine are somewhat discoloured, 'armour all' does a fair job at bringing some lustre back into them but doesn't last long in my experience if they're too far gone.

Wondered if anyone had tried dying or painting them ? Or is there some magic restoration product around for them.

Try tyre shine wet look spray, it works for me and
lasts for about 2 months !

I like to use McGuiers products, and am fairly sure they have a trim restorer.

I have found that if the trim is faded, quite often it is a build up of polish & wax from the panels that dis-colours the plastic.

If the trim is sun-faded and too far gone, then you can buy trim paint from Repco & the like to respray them. Never tried it, but I do have a can ready to do the mirror surrounds on #1 daughters Hyundai.

The exterior plastic trim such as wheel arch flairs, rear bumper etc are not black but a dark grey so they look faded even when new. Regular use of cheap spray tyre cleaner works OK.

McGuires (?) Exterior Trim Detailer.

25$ a can, but does the whole car and looks new for months. Just make sure you apply it when the car is dry or it will streak.

Nothing else comes close.

I went with "Auto-Glym bumper care" and its looking good so far - here's a photo of the results.

Left side is treated - right side is how it was originally

Edit: I took the photo a few hours after applying the stuff - so its dry in the photo

I'm curious to try this - but I'll try on an unused part first I think ...
