I have a 2005 Defender110 done 50,000 km. Every now and then the gears seem to stick and cant get it into or out of gear. This has happened a number of times when I have stopped the car, put it in neutral and gone to put it back in gear. When this happens it wont go into any gear. The clutch also seems light when this happens and really have to force the gears when this happens. Something is definitely wrong but at the moment it is not happening too often - any suggestions will be a big help.

I'm no mechanic, but I have also have a 2005 Defender 110 with around the same number of kilometres on it as yours, and what you have described is exactly what happened to mine about 9 months ago. I took it into the dealer and they told me that the clutch master cylinder had packed it in. Luckily for me when it happened I had a couple of months left on the warranty and the dealer replaced it under warranty. The dealer also told me that this a common fault. :o

Thanks for that - looks like I will try an overhall kit with the clutch master cylinder first and see what happens - at least it points me in the right direction. Really appreciate your feedback. :)
