hello everyone!
i am in the proccess of an endless air system on my 200tdi defender but the problem is where to mount the sanden style compressor :o i have looked at one post on the site of a guy (cant remember his name) who has put one on his 200tdi and done a excellent job including photos but he did have 2 compressors on his engine and im only looking at mounting one. anyways i have called some places for original air con brackets to fit a 200tdi defender but most places have said that they are hard to come across so looks like dad and i will be going to make a bracket, our first design was going to be a bracket that uses one of the head bolts to hold the bracket and one of the bolts on the timing cover to hold the bottom of the bracket but we then decided not to go that way due to not knowing how long the head bolts are and didnt want to disturb anything vital on the engine!
after a bit more discussion/designing we decided on a bracket that will go from the timing cover bolts over to a 6mm thick black plate that is on the side of the block , but what we dont know is what is behind that that balck plate? is it an opening straight into the internals of the engine ? or is it just a plate that is just mounted to the side of the enigine for mounting things to?

if anyone knows exactly what is behind this plate it would be very appreciated :D and also if anyone has any other suggestions they will also be very appreciated

cheers!
