Haven't even picked up the 90 yet and I am planning things.

Anyone tried using the dickie seats from a Disco as short term rear seating in a 90 or 110?

Here's a link to the type of thing I have found:
landrover discovery 1 dickie seats - eBay Seats, Interior, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 26-Jul-09 18:17:24 AEST) (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/landrover-discovery-1-dickie-seats_W0QQitemZ320399416778QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_C ar_Parts_Accessories?hash=item4a994b1dca&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294 %3A50)

Starting at $5.00 it might be a cheap solution. There are a few for sale on eBay.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks
David

I'd be surprised if they fit without a lot of modification.

In my disco, the dickie seats mount behind the rear wheel arches, off the floor I think. In my '59 series swb and the County, they have an Identical and simple set up It mounts with two bolt through the "wheel arch" and locates two tangs in the galv rear quarter capping , similar to your 90 I think.

Why dont you just buy some high backs made for the job from Exmoor fold forward and turn side onto the wheel arch when out of use. they even do seatbelt mounts for aftermarket situations.
the plus is at least your passengers are facing the right way and not puking into the tray with travel sickness lol

Would you need to get an engineering certificate for those additional seats? Even the ones from the UK I think would need a certificate. I know of a place in Fern Tree Gully VICTORIA (Vehiquip) that specialises in these sorts of mods if that's any help.

If SA is anything like WA, Motor Registry approval would be required for any seating modification that is different from what was offered as a factory option.

from DPI's website (http://www.dpi.wa.gov.au/licensing/1888.asp)

Seats and seat belts
Alternative Seats

Alternative seats may be fitted to all vehicles where they are a manufacturer’s option.

Information Bulletin on Additional Seating

Seat Belts

Replacement Belts

Replacement seat belts may be fitted where they are the same format as the original and comply with the Australian Standards Association requirements as amended from time to time. Any replacement belt must be new (second-hand belts are not permitted to be used).

Additional Seating Positions

Where a seat belt is fitted to an additional seat it must conform to SAA standards and must have an anchorage visibly comparable to those originally fitted to the vehicle.

I ended up buying side bench seating from Exmoor Trim that's identical to factory fitted 90 and 110's for just this reason... that was nearly 2 years ago, and I'm yet to install them

Had two forward facing seats fitted in my 90 by vehquip - nice job:). Not cheap though:(

Depending on how often you plan to use them I think forward facing is much safer.
