Ah, it's been a while, but finally took the new D3 out for a bit of a play last weekend.:D
Unfortunately, my wife's nephew drowned his Hilux, so I spent most of the morning recovering him and then towing him all the way back to the city, so this is the only bit I managed to do :(

Also went down to the Coastal 4x4 ramp day (becoming an annual event) and posted 36th out of 64 competitors. However, I _think_ I was the 1st stock standard vehicle - see the thread at Coastal 4x4 Ramp day - Perth4x4.net Forums

I am looking at a D3 to buy
What is involved with getting that sort of clearance?

Looks good Gordon. I like the look of the LR options you've got but the colour-coded bumper and guards I don't. Not that you have a choice of course...

Thanks all - it was good to be behind the wheel again!
Yes, I've fitted my swappable sensor rods to the car - didn't use them in the ramp contest, as they reduce the articulation by a small but significant amount.
Richard, see you in Harvey!
Robert, see you in Melb!
Cheers,
Gordon

Oh, by the way, this is why the Hilux in the first video wasn't moving ;)
(Piddler, I sent you a PM)
Cheers,
Gordon

Why wasn't it moving later? It has a snorkel. What went wrong?

It sunk deeper than that as I went around to recover him. The motor stopped in a cloud of smoke and I had to drag him out as a dead weight. Obviously the snorkel (or some pathway after it) leaked.
