Heading north next week on hols. Wife and I have been exploring the area in Willems story on the last couple of trips. It's a very interesting spot and seldom visited, at a guess only a couple of dozen people have been there since the story was written about twenty years ago. Anyway I will attempt to create a link as he tells a far more interesting story than I.

That's an interesting website and a great story he tells. I'll have a closer read of it when I get a bit more time. Not only the 4WD story but also the genealogy he has published. I find the history of people interesting.
I reckon you'd have had an interesting time exploring that area Greg. Have a great trip in the coming hols.

Sorry Willem, didn't mean to infer that you had done a runner. I can see how the title would have got your attention. This Willem is still about and pops up now and then on explore oz, tells a pretty god yarn. He has a few stories on his site dating back to the late sixtys, well worth a read. I wouldn't call them politically correct but he tells it like it was.
We got about half way in last attempt but ran out of time, will add some photo's of the track.

This ones from Point Stewart, good little caravan park with units. Well off the tourist track.

No need to be sorry Greg. You're right, the title was certainly going to grab my attention! :D But I just find that his stories are interesting, so I appreciate you drawing our attention to them.
Great pics, BTW- Particularly that last one of the waterfall.

Good pics, I'm working on getting up there at some point :)
The website looks good too, will have to spend some time going through it, they've certainly had some vehicles and covered some ground.
