Well ive made it, no breakages or break downs. Missed a turn into Warbuton and did a section of what is know as the abanden section. Corrogations that have rattled every fibre in my body for most of it. Dingos annoyed my camp on the first night and a mob of camels had me worried on the second night. Met 2 going the same way as me with trailers - no thanks, hire vehicle with no coms. Also met a convoy of 3 going east- west and the lead vehicle had a broken rear leaf spring, they were only about 100km in, they twrned it around and kept going (wonder how far they are now. Had a chat for a while with a guy from Darwin driving a 2003 silver defender travelling solo, he had travelled all the abanden section, Trip report and pics when I get back to Tassie. Currently at Yulara.
cheers

Funny thing, somewhere there is a sign vistors book - Windy Corner I think.
The group that signed before me were/signed the Landrovers club of Cambera, there comment was about the bore jarring ruts and at this point I had met no landies even though the dates were corect. Was talking to the care taker at Warbaton caravan park and he had met them 2 days before and not one of them was driving a landy (serves them right I reckon)
cheers

ps
I do have a couple of extra rattles

The visitor's book is at Everard Juction - I signed it, and put in a reference to AULRO when I went across the Barrel in 2008. The Old Gunbarrel - from Jackie to Giles, is the best part, so it was a fortunate mistake giving Warburton a miss. :)

As Ron says, many of us would love to do that trip! So well done, and we are looking forward to a full report with pics!
