From the Ford Australian Boss today !!!
"Burela also officially confirmed that the Territory would offer a V6 diesel option -- basically the same 2.7-litre engine jointly developed for Ford, Land Rover and Peugeot. This engine, still offered in the Land Rover Discovery 3, formerly powered the Jaguar XF, but has been recently upgraded to 3.0 litres' capacity in that car."
I wonder what this will do for spare parts prices etc ?

What will be interesting is whether Ford maintain the 12-16k cost diff between the petrol and diesel Territory, as does LR with the D3.

I for one said Ford wouldn't do the Territory TDV6 because of cost but it looks like it wont be here until early 2011 which makes it a 6+ year old engine. Maybe they're waiting because it will be cheaper by then? It seems to get the latest technology diesels you still have to choose European.

I got an email from ford today about the new diesel engine that is supposed to be more efficient and the falcon is going to have a state of the art gas injection system. Anyway deleted it because it had nothing to do with land rovers.

And they already run the 6 speed ZF auto,so the two will match well.As said, the engine will be pretty old by the time it is in the Territory & on the market.By then the 3 litre will have replaced it in all LR models you would think.Jag have already dropped the 2.7.
