Server is Exchange 2003, workstations are XP-SP3.

For some reason I can't get a couple of workstations to send using the "From" facility. Error msg is about not having permisson. But I've been round all the workstations, & given this reciprocal permission in the delegates area. 4 workstations are fine, 2 just won't play.

While I'm at it, again sending with the "From" facility, some workstations only offer the Global Address list, others offer a list. How do I get them to all show "all users"? The miscreant workstations are different to above.

Is it something simple or do I need to get the IT guys to pay a visit?

TIA,
Max P

we have a similar setup here, but virtually nobody uses the from function (I'm the IT guy ;) ).

I can't think of anything off hand, if permissions have been given my the originator machine. the only thing I can think of is that there is a setting in exchange disabling the from function.

G'day Tusker,

A couple of questions...

Are the ones that work and the ones that dont using the same version of Outlook?

The mailbox your trying to get the users to send from ... is it another users mailbox or somesort of resource mailbox? ( like a general accounts department or something) If it's a general resource.. are the users that cant send in teh correct groups?

If you set up a profile for a user that does work or a PC that doesn't.. you may be able to isolate if the issue is related to the user account or the computer configuration of the one having trouble.

I'll keep thinking, See if I can get any inspiration for you..

Cheers Mark

All the same version..

There's only 6 of us here, & its specific users I'd like e.g. Reception to email on behalf of. No general resoirce stuff on Outlook.

Since posting I noticed I couldn't delete a desktop icon, yet that user has full admin privileges. I checked the permissions in the registry, seems ok to me.

Might try sharing tomorrow, see if that works.

Thanks all,

Regards
