Hi All,
Just wandering what the average height of a typical Defender driver is?
I come in around 6'3", and was wondering if there are any other lanky fellas (or ladies) getting around in Defenders???

It depends on which Defender as to how much actual room you get. A single cab pre-Puma with air conditioning is going to be the worst for you. Wagons and dual cabs allow the seat to be slid back further. You can also install seat mount extensions (there might even be a set on the Markets at the moment, from memory).
There is some pretty good info and suggestions in this thread:

might be worth a poll :D
I am 185cm / 6.07 foot.
If you feel too squeezed in try a set of seat extensions - works a treat.
Cheers,

I had no major issue in the 300Tdi, so the TD5 should be the same? Both where 110's
Is there a link to a supplier of the seat extensions ?

I'm pretty certain that the TD5 has the same air conditioning set up as the Tdi (someone else will know for sure).
You can make the seat extensions yourself out of some box section (something like 25 x 25), or, you might find that Mulgo knows someone..... ;) (www.exploz.com.au (http://www.exploz.com.au))

I'm 6'3 too. No dramas for me in the wagons and crew cabs, but the single cab is way too claustrophobic for me :o

185cm and there is not enough leg or foot (size 12) room in a 110 County.

I am 6' and a bit and I find the driving position in the Defender comfortable, except the door trim could be about an inch thinner. I find foot room on the passenger side terrible with the air con (size 12 feet). I sat in a Puma the other day and found they have a bit more room in the passenger footwell.

Both my wife and I are 6ft 2' and we find the front of our Tdi defender as comfortable as our Forrester. I actually prefer the more upright seating compared to the more typical style found in most Japanese 4WD's.

I'm 6' as well and no problems. If the seat won't go far enough back for you you can get extended seat rails for the Defender's. As said the A/C on pre 07 Defender's is a pain but more for the passenger than the driver.

I have a 130 that I fit in fine (6'4" and broad shoulders).:)
Can't say the same for every other Defender and County I ever drove (or should I say "tried" to drive).:(
Usually got my leg jammed between the door and the steering wheel (esp Army 110's for some reason).:eek2:
By some strange stroke of luck, the 130 I bought sight unseen fits me like a glove!:Dbut is a pig mechanically:mad:

I'm 6'4" needed the seat rails (britpart from rovacraft) and just replaced the steering wheel with tiny one, all made a huge difference, espacially driving and closing the window!!
