Elisabeth and I are off to Mooloolaba next Wednesday. We'll be annoying the Sunshine Coast mob for a week. Perhaps we can get together for a drink or three?
We'll be staying at:
The Beach Club Resort,
Cnr First Avenue & Meta Street,
Mooloolaba
We are hiring a car so I can travel.

That's a shame Ron, as Pat and I will be on our annual jaunt to Louth for the picnic races. Otherwise you could have stopped in for a cuppa en route.

I wonder how Elizibeth would feel about parachuting in en route?:p:D

She has to get rid of me where my body can be found - otherwise it's a 7 year wait to get my assets. :D
So who can I annoy up that way?

H Ron, I'm up for being annoyed. We live only about 20mins to the north of Mooloolaba. I'm sure I could bore you both to death with idle L/rover chatter and a couple of suitable refreshments.
cheers
Evelyn

A trip to Underwater World - Home (http://www.underwaterworld.com.au) is quite entertaining followed by a boat trip around the harbour, weather's nice up here at the moment so you should enjoy your stay.
Montville and Maleny are worth a look too if you are doing the tourist thing ;)

Yep, did a Maleny - Montville run. I think Montville might be nice for lunch but mot on a weekend. We did the Australia Zoo thing yesterday. That place is well set up.
Noosa today, with a harbour ferry run, I think. I am considering the Rattler train run through Mary Valley.
Internet connection in this place is, like most places in Oz, too exxy. Why do the budget places provide it free and the dearer places charge like wounded bulls?

I'm back. :(
Langy came up from the GC for a visit. Thanks, Mark. :)
I couldn't wait to get out of Noosa Heads and into the Hinterland. Hastings St is a nightmare. I much preferred Mooloolaba to Noosa but could happily live in the Hinterland.
Jerryd, Underwater World is excellent and the harbour lunch cruise for $29 is good value.
Signposting could do with some improvement. For example, on the way to Moroochydore airport this morning, the sign on the main road showed the airport turn off as the second exit. It was the third. Gahhh!
Qld sure loves roundabouts. Elisabeth pointed out that, on the motorway, the Qlders stayed in the left lane unless overtaking. Better than us down here.

Well, I don't know where that is.
We hired a Hyundai Getz for the week but Budget downgraded us to a new RAV4!
Boy, is that an awful drive in comparison to our Forester. It feels like a truck, very heavy steering, it's noisy, and pressing the go pedal may have released, by the sound of it, 200 killer wasps - but it didn't accelerate any faster.
In fact, after driving from the airport to our hotel, I told my wife she could do all the remaining driving. She loathed the RAV, too.
