Aww I think thats a little harsh...don't think anyone hates the FL2....its great for what it is. I think most people recognise that...so a "furphy" being laid to rest is a bit OTT. I was well impressed when I saw one on the weekend.....but would take the D2 over an FL anyday for "proper" off roading. Its an AWD not a 4WD..simple....and its not meant to be a 4WD. As an AWD for getting around town and hitting some dirt tracks and beach etc...great.

For general touring and off roading a lot of compromise has to be made...I'd rather forgo the compromise and get something that can do the job from the get go. If anything I think it is good for LR as it gets a different clientele into the seat...which makes money....which keeps the company at the forefront,

So, would an FL towing a farm water cart be a furphy towing a furphy? :D:D:p

WillemActually that would be a "furphy towing a Furphy". :)

However, whatever it is, after a FL tows around a 250 gallon* Furphy water cart with cast iron ends and cast iron wheels the FL will most definately have to be laid to rest! :D :p

* the weight of the water alone is 1.14 tonnes
