Hi there all

I have a question related to alloy wheels fitted to Defenders.....

I have heard some wheels dont fit certain models......what Disco wheels do I need to fit a 1994 Defender....

I have also heard the alloys dont have the load capacity compared to steel rims, and may cause insurance issues if you had an accident - is this true?

Well thanks in advance

OK... Any Disco 1 rim should fit your Defender.

As for the strength, yep, the steels are typically stronger. However, Genuine Land Rover alloy rims are typically stronger then aftermarket alloys. I've got the LR 'TWR' style rims fitted to mine and they're rated at 850kg each.

IIRC - The load rating on the Land Rover rims will vary depending on the rim so you should check it out for the style you're interested in.

As for the steels, the stronger rims are the 130 rims with the Wolf rims being that little bit stronger still.
