I believe they were Kew Dodge Trucks from the 50's.

Youv'e got me there. I dont recall a model designation, just a model year. As a kid I remember there being one on Kangaroo Island in the 70's (we had a heap of varied trucks and cars). I think it was a 54 model, but I was only a kid.
Is this a test or do you genuinelly want to know the particular model?:D
They would have to be 51-55 I would think. Not much changed in the line up, but I would love a fire tender version.:):)
On the subject we used to have a 50's Thames (Ford), god old truck, can not recall the exact year. Used to sit in the centre as a kid on cold mornings to keep warm (engine compartment).

After you got me intrigued I did a bit of digging. Probablly Kew Dodge 123 Tippers.

The trucks used were Kew-built Dodge 123 tippers, powered by Perkins diesels and hauling a legal maximum of 6-cubic yards (remember those?). Although as many as ten wagons can be seen in one shot of the yard (there were ten named drivers), only seven are ever seen 'on the road'. These bore the registrations: 844 DMX; 845 DMX; 320 EMY; 321 EMY; 322 EMY; 323 EMY; and UMG 853.
