I can't believe you haven't had a reply. I would have thought someone out there would want one. It's your spare LWB chassis I take it? If it's in the way I'll stick it on my trailer when I come to see you. I've heard you can cut down a 109 chassis and make it into a strong 88 ;)

I've heard you can cut down a 109 chassis and make it into a strong 88 ;)It would be a lot of work as you have to cut-and-shut the chassis in a number of places and the cross-member behind the gearbox is in the wrong place, so you may need the bottom cut out to allow full articulation of the prop-shaft.

As Diana says, you would need to chop 21" out of the middle, as well as chop the rear overhang off and move the crossmember in. As well as a few other minor changes.
You would also then have outboarded rear springs, so would need to weld new perches on your rear axle. Outboarded springs on an 88" would reduce body roll but limit articulation.
It would probably only be worthwhile if you wanted to build a MWB.
