Does anyone have any ideas where I might be able to get one of these from? Its a tie down off the side of a SWB tub, I'm missing one and it looks a little complex for me to make one, and I can't see them listed anywhere for sale...

Sweet, thanks for that!

They are spotwelded on, and are not supposed to be detachable!

I suggest there are three possibilities;-

1. Make one - but as you say, a bit complicated to make an exact replica.

2. Find someone (here?) with a wrecked tub, and remove one by drilling out the spotwelds from inside, then rivet it to your tub, or perhaps get an expert to weld it.

3. If not after authenticity, but just something you can attach a rope to, try a supplier of caravan/trailer or camping parts or even a hardware shop. There are similar but not identical hooks available designed for bolting on. I used these when adding hooks for a canvas cab cover on my 2a before I put a cab on it, and also on my trailer.

There are these, with part numbers (note there are two, left and right):

LAND ROVER PARTS - TIE DOWN RH FRT 3/4 CAM - (http://www.roversnorth.com/store/p-1475-tie-down-rh-frt-34-cam-.aspx)

LAND ROVER PARTS - TIE DOWN LH FRT 3/4 CAM - (http://www.roversnorth.com/store/p-1476-tie-down-lh-frt-34-cam-.aspx)

Alan

PS, You know they are only for the canvas tilt don't you. Not for tying heavy things down with.

This is what I would do, however I would drill the spotwelds out from the front, and plug weld the new one back on, then grind the plugs flush.

Hi TeZZaP, I have a scrap tub which I can drill one off for you. Like Ben says, just get someone to 'puddle' weld it back on for you.
cheers
