They're legal.
You need one that's SRS compatible though.

Is there a front bar available for the FL2?

Hi Scott,

Thanks for your reply but I don't know what an SRS compatible means????

Below is the link of the front bar I'm thinking of getting.

SRS compatible means that the bar wont affect the deployment of the airbags

thanks for that. Does the front bar in the link below look like it's SRS compatible?

If your buying it from a Land Rover specialist, it probably is compatible, but you should still ask the question of them.
The other thing is, that link is to an American firm, so dont forget to do your sums first on exchange rates,, (cant you get one in Sydney?)

indeed have calculated the costs + shipping and it's not cheap but I can't find one like that in Australia, been looking everywhere, the dealer only has a metal/chrome one that I don't like.

please let me know if you come across one like that anywhere in Australia. thanks

please let me know if you come across one like that anywhere in Australia. thanksI've checked the part number in the link you provided (LR003319) & LR Australia have 9 in stock.

Just call your dealer & quote the part number over the phone. I don't know how much protect it offers though.

i don't know how LR Australia disclosed to you that they have 9 in stock cause they wouldn't say anything to me over the phone and refered me to the dealer.

Long story short dealer sells them for $846 + $615 installation..... pretty expensive so I'll have to find a way to justify this......and it's not even for protection, more for looks than anything.

thanks for your help

trust me Scouse knows these things if he says it is in stock then it is in stock ;)

buy it and fit it your self that way you save $615 :)

its going to cost you $484 dollars by the time you convert it to Aus dollar then you need to add frieght on that and then you need to add fitting anyway if your not going to fit it your self so can't see how your going to save money personally

$615 installation works out at about 4-5 hrs of dealer time.

If LR trained technicians can do it in that time (shut up DB :p), then surely you can do it over a day or so.

I would imagine the front bar/grille comes off then the 'bar' is mounted up & the whole lot refitted.

Put on a BBQ lunch & you might even get a few of us around to give you a hand :).

free installation for food & beer???? sounds good :BigThumb:

indeed, dealer said it takes about 4 hours, hence the price for installation....and yes they have to remove the front grill and replace with the plastic bar

still thinking about it ...... I don't need it at this time but if I did I would probably order from UK, I don't think shipping would be $300, so I should save something in the end?

hahahhahah Shipping from the uk is a bigger killer than the states :lol2:

I dont think you have really looked into this have you :D

I would lay a bet that it would be cheaper from the states than the UK
