Hi guys,
So I'm supposed to go 4wding tomorrow as a first trip in my new TD5.
03 MY Auto 90k on the clock.
Driving home from a one hour drive - normal straight line braking. 3 amigos come on. Drive straight to my local specialist - early afternoon all service guys gone. Tried ringing 3 places = no luck.:( Bugger the luck, I've had the car 5 weeks. So far it's had the fuel tank vent line replaced, and the injector loom replaced for rough running.
So, the lights won't go out even with the reset procedure. Tried locking car, restarting, drive around block.
Is it safe to go tomorrow? I don't have ABS at the moment, does that also mean no TC or HDC?
I'm aware that this could be any other fault logged though so I'm hesitant to go although the car seems to be running okay. Any other ideas - run the ABS system by bridging it for around 30 secs. That won't help reset the code, will it?
Your thoughts?

i woulndt worry mate, mine never works either just use the cdl it depends on what your oing though if the car is stock your not going to go rock crawling your just gonna have a play , so it would be a good opertunity to try the ability of the car with the bare minimum.

Mate it will be fine, I've been 4wding for over a year with mine on. Just lock the CDL and it will still surprise you time and time again.

Mine have been appearing now and then after a long drive, I rang Rovertech and the first thing to try is to replace the brake fluid. I haven't changed mine yet (at work another 10 days ). Maybe give that a try.

If we knew where you were, someone may be able to reset and clear them with a Nanocom and tell you what fault code it is and what is causing the 3 amigoes.

Ok,,,I'm feeling a bit dumb,,,I've seen the movie,, had a good laugh even, but have got no idea what "the 3 amigoes" have to do with Discos'..
Can someone give me a quick explanation please,,

:p They are the Hill Descent light, Traction Control and ABS lights on the dash. Plenty of references on here to them. Do a search as they explain better than I ever will.
Interesting about the brake fluid, because it gets worse.
Went out to get food and fill up - hop back in car and now I've got a permanent red handbrake lit up as well. 4 lights on and counting.
Only thing I've done is splice power for a new CB yesterday into the cigarette lighter positive wire.
So, the TC and HDC lights go out after their self test and then relight. That would be the logged fault doing this I'm guessing.
ABS light now never goes out, not even after it's self test. Neither now does the handbrake light / light. Checked the handbrake and it's letting go properly.
Brake problems scare the crap out of me. Definitely won't be going tomorrow now...
Baz - thanks for the offer and the comment. Changed my location to show Mt Waverley, Eastern Suburbs Melbourne. Cars under a close by LR specialist and dealer second hand warranty still so I'll take it back to them!! Still love the car even with the mounting list of issues.
Cheers,
Matt
