Hi Guys,

My TD5 Defender has just started to get a slight bit of clutch slip, when I had the motor out a month ago the clutch seemed to have lots of meat left on it however the fuel regulator is leaky and I have not got around to fixing it.

Does anyone think that the leaked fuel could be seeping through the Bell housing and on to the clutch?

Thanks Ben.........

A clutch plate with plenty of life left isn't any good if the pressure plate is weak.

When do you notice it slipping? Under load in a high gear or just when taking off in 1st?

under load in a high gear, the truck seemed to have had a had a new clutch plate in it, as the did not look to be a land rover item. How ever unsure if the pressure plate had been changed.

was the whole assembly changed jan? or just the friction plate?
if its still slipping and the FW,PP and FP were replaced ide say the adjustment of the clutch pedal is out/riding.

cheers phil
