Very nice indeed! Not bloody cheap though!
The solar panels looks very interesting - never seen them like that.

When we take into consideration that here the campervan builders charge $ 132000 for a VW camper this option it is not too bad :)

If you click on the link in the first post you will see that they carry a 'roll out' solar panel.

There's heaps of good pics on Ex-Tec's (http://extec-gmbh.de/website/pages/start/kundenfahrzeuge.php) website.
I was trying to find a pic which showed how the roof is hinged at the front. What do you reckon they use. It would have to be strong, as well as waterproof.

One of the things that I like about the Ex=Tec roofs is the side panels

But they don't appear to have good ventilation that is needed in our tropics.:(

Me too! It must be the cold short days :(
I have had a few chats with Daniel/Mulgo about roof alterations on this thread: http://www.aulro.com/afvb/90-110-130-defender-county/86327-q-mulgo-hohars-lifting-roof-converted-110s.html
Might be interesting, and there are pictures of the HoHars' nice conversion in that thread too.
Cheers

Thank you David for your inputs, I am in touch with Daniel and also know the Hohars rig when they stop overnight at home. Very impresive rig my add.
I think that this thread and the new thread that I just posted in the Defenders forum are for the benefit of all of us and also will help us change ideas with Daniel in how we can finish with a product to our individual requirements.
Daniel's rig is very impressive and his inputs are very valuable because he have done few long trips and he know by now what it is a must and what can be done with out it.
Cheers

I like the Azalai Conversion on a 130 dual cab :), but it would cost around $100k to get one into Australia
Maybe one day when I sell the house and downsize.................;)

I could be wrong but I remember reading somewhere that it is not legal to mount spare tyre on the bonnet anymore.
