park brake and engine warning light

Earlier in the week SWMBO started the D3 and got a warning to do with the park brake. She thought she saw the work disengage but couldn't be sure.

She thought it stayed on and the car was sluggish..again not sure...why dont the take more notice of these things and remember:(

The amber engine warning light was on for about 3 days and when I got in it tonight, no warning light:confused:

Is the amber light a fault that normally clears itself after a few days for some faults. It is going back to the dealer for a check next week so I'm sure they'll be able to read the original fault and have a look.

The handbrake shoes can drag & the actuator can over travel if they're out of adjustment too so that might explain the handbrake warning light. The dealer will soon see if they've been dragging once the rear discs are off.

It's not usually related to the engine warning light though so that might be something else.

Spit on the rear wheels after a drive, if it instantly boils the shoes are dragging.
Know of one instance of a rear wheel ctching fire and siezing, middle of nowhere and they had a job getting it freed, had to remove the brakes on that wheel.
