Yeah I know Simon, but still, being a parent has its interesting side effects:D
The other half worried about EVERY detail, what could happen, what might happen etc etc , but in the end she is 15, with a schoolgroup, with 2 fantastic teachers, and the whole thing is well organised. She couldn't go last year with her other friends, but this year we had more time to find the $ and organise things and she has 3 of her friends going with her, the rest from the year below.
So yes, she'll have a ball!

I'd watch out for Josh - if he's like me.
On my flight back from LA, the plane had a lot of teenage girls travelling together. Some were a bit of orlright! (Not that I looked) :)

"Daddy, when I get my licence, can I have a Landcruiser??? Everyone who is anyone and has a 4WD in Japan has a Landcruiser...."

Sitting with one of the locals artists for coffee one Sat moring a month or so back, she mentioned "doesn't little Maddy look gorgeous in the little short skirt and apron they have as a uniform here"
" I make it a point not to look Charlotte, I'm old enough to be her father..."
She roared laughing.

At least they've gone is a group with teachers etc.
I just put my 18yo daughter on a plane to the UK for a 6 month holiday (gap year) with another 18 yo girlfriend. Imagine the trouble 2 Aust girls backpacking through France can get into

I'm on holiday (beauty of having a japanese wife) but will keep an eye out as around there at that time.
DB check the prices on some of the japanese electronics website (use the google translator to read)... had a look last week at video cameras working out if to buy there or here and were cheaper here on sale then there from what i saw. Though they do have some small disposable SD video cameras for about $60 which i think i'll buy a couple of for testing mounted to the fender offroad
As for you Ron.... I know nothin' ;)
