Hi there,

I wonder if anyone can tell me how to find out if the suspension on the Utility in the attached photo has been raised?
It just fits in the garage as is. We would like to fit a canopy but fear that the rear will catch on the roof as the vehicle seems higher at the rear.
Have also enclosed a picture of the part of a canopy frame which came with the car. I suspect it is part of the original factory frame. Can anyone confirm that please? Also, would anyone know where we could source the rest of this frame and/or canopy OR where we could get an aftermarket canopy (and rest of the frame) made up at a reasonable price? Many thanks. E.

meassure your bump stop clearance and call Les Richmond (03 9464 4094) ask for their spring guru, and he should be able to tell you.

Yes its part of the original Frame, they would have been a rear section too.

Exmoor trim supply spares as per pics below, the sticks are around 250uk pounds, and the hoods start at 200uk, you can pick them up on ebay from time to time, and with the new Puma range coming out here, they may well be some people who dont want theres.

I actually have a spare, complete new frame, (including hardware in a plastic bag, the front holdown angle is missing, I made one for my original hood from some angle cheaply) but I suspect freight could be a killer, or maybe not ??

Any good motor trimmer can make a canopy up, generally run to around $1000
I was advised that use canvas only if camping in it, otherwise go for PVC for commercial use.

The L/R dealer that used to be at Lismore or Casino had a complete hood new a few years back, but I'd reckon it's be gone now.

<snip>

Give us bumpstop dimensions, (measure the distance between the bumpstops unladen, front and back) the rear does ride high in a 130.

<edit> Mine measures 140mm drivers side, 135mm pass side at the rear between the stops ATM.

Hi Rick,
Thanks for that info. Are you interested in selling those items you mentioned? If yes, what else would I need? By "canopy hold down", do you mean the sail track type fitting that sits on the top of the tray at the front? I have that bit. What price would you ask? Whereabouts in the Upper Hunter are you? cheers E.
