Hi all:)
Just seeing if anyone else has this same UHF?
I bought mine second hand a little while ago now and it didn't come with any power cables, arials or mounting bracket:(
So just seeing what they are like and do i need to run two arials?
It has two arial plugs coming out of the back of the unit which are labled as- "UHF ANT" and "HF ANT"??
Also will i need anything else to install it?
And where could i possably buy replaceent powerleads to suit?

Sorry i'm hopeless with this sort of stuff:angel:

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!

Hey Tim,

Pretty sure that is what i have

You do need two aerials if you intend on using both UHF and AM. You may find that the power cable is fairly standard. I will check if my old Uniden AM has the same cable as the dual unit in the disco, pretty sure it is just three wires (or is it even just two?). The mounting bracket is also the same as other full size units as i just used the one in the Disco (older Uniden AM CB), come to think of it i think i just re-used the power cable also so all should be pretty universal. maybe try Tandy/Dick Smith or anyone that sells Uniden?

yes i have a uh095sx. there's a thing called a dummy inserter that lets the computer think it is running on the propper wave length, (so the electricity dont go back through the antanner and reck your out put). I've been looking for the said item, but not to hard. Hey ya am can run on ya car arial any way, ibet ya thats a cheaper way out. But i dont know how good upper and lower side band would go. Any way our cb's dont have that yet any way. Im glad my old school sais the more the merrier in cb's.

I have purchased three of the above radios when they were available.
I believe they they are no longer sold.
In the three different vehiclesI have them mounted in they run just a single Ariel.
The Ariel is small and short.
both Ariel out puts go into a special small box and come out as one.
I purchased the other two as I was so happy with the first radio.
It effectively works as a AM 27 meg and UHF radio at the same time.
You can use the the am in terrain which favors that sort of transmission and visa. versa.
The out put is 2.5 watts, but it is easy to screw it up to 4 watts as done on one of my radios.
The short ariel is the thing which limits range.
It works fine for vehicle to vehicle coms.
Very , very happy and the case , mic and brackets etc match up to other Unicom radios.
I like the single ariel option as it save time and space.
You need the instruction booklet to get the most out of it .

You can use the thing as a striaght UHF and use your existing aerial, but look carefully at the writing stamped in the bottom of the radio to make certain to plug the aerial lead into the correct socket or you will blow the radio.
I have pics coming I have taken tonight in the dark.
the quailty will not be to good ,but it will give you a idea of how to set it up as a dual radio with one aerial.
You can use two aerials if you want too thou.
I do have the correct aerial part nos and mixer box nos some where if you want to go that way..
A special dual circult aerial must be used for dual operation with one aerial.

Most Uniden's I've seen have the same power cable. You cant buy them separately in Dick Smiths or anywhere else generic that I've found, but you can get them direct from Uniden in Sydney.
Expensive though - when I bought a couple Dec last year they cost me the monstrous sum of $1.80 each (Freight was an extra $10)

P/N is 8751004 - and this is it:

Long Stroke if your going the single ant way best to get a hf(am) ant and use it for both hf and uhf as 101 RON has. uhf will work well on a piece of wire but hf is a bit fussy.:)

Thanks SteveG and Booger:thumbsup:
Not shore i can afford those power cordes though:p
I will contadt Uniden and see if i can get me one, now i'm thinking with the arials i think it would work out cheaper if i just run seperate arials, i have a UHF one so all i need is a hf and i'll be sweet:cool:
