G'day Guys, took your advice last time and everthing worked great but I need your help again.
I am looking for a pair of new army boots, The ones that come over your ankles. If any knows were I can get some from, that would be good. (Black would be great)

Thanks Luke

The three branches of the ADF Cadets all get issued a black "cadet Boot" still which is similar in style and shape to the old GP army boots, but designed for adolescents feet (mainly lighter and more sole cushioning)

The old GP (General Purpose) army boots are probably what you want. Sams in hobart should have some, pretty sure allgoods in launnie normally have some as well.

Hi mate, i went through the same search a couple of year back, there are a few places that sell them in oz but not many, i found this site and purchased them online, they arrived within a few days, and even with postage cost me less than anything in Australia.

Martyn,I think you'll find that the boots (in sizes 3 to 22 and various width fittings) shown are Motor mower safety boots, used by most County Councils for their 'Mower men'

Become a member. I've bought a fair bit of stuff from there over the last few years. Chris keeps sending me emails listing the 50% off items.

I think he's selling the ebay branch soldiershop too if anyone's interested.

Haven't tried clothing, just kit where size doesn't matter! - you can be the guinea pig (or mole).

I'd like a pair of the Garmont T8 boots but don't want to risk not getting the size right. Let me know how you get on.

depending on what you want them for I wear Magnum boots, they have both normal shoe lace and a zip. do the laces up with them zipped up then all you do is undo the zip to get them off. tactical response, cops and the like wear them as they are very light, and still very supportive. you can get them in either full leather or with some sort of canvas looking stuff for if they are going to be immersed in water.

cost about $250-00 from Mitchells or disposal stores

I like the old sealed gp boot, laces with the folded leather tongue, nice in the cold and wet,. Unless the water goes over the top,. Then they are a pain, as they have no where to vent the water,
Any boots you buy,. Fork out the $20 and get some gel cel insoles from a sport store,. , they make most boots feel like runners, will really cut your blisters down,
I love the Old Terra boots with the seat belt sash over, the newer leather side ones,. All the room under insole and the vents, seems to pump water back out when you march about,.
But the army workshop boot is better again, with a “steal” cap, you see Terra’s at army dep stores all the time,. a lot of foke hit them with black boot polish, or a night in boot dye,, isn’t hard to turn something black.

Well to be on the safe size, I will sent me foot size and then they should be able to get the right ones. Even though i am a size 10, a 9 could be to big or 11 could be to small. Its confusing.:(

they have started issuing them in dcs but as i wasn't offered any in my particular job i went with the nasty shoes.
some of the officers have them and they are as light as trainers/sneakers (bloody yanks) and are lush soft leather with a gortex panel on the sides look good

Gortex thats the stuff, I had them first but when I bought my motor bike I didnt think the gortex was strong enough if I slid down the road, so I got the fully enclosed ones. Wouldn't wear anything else now.

arse kicking boots !!!!!!!!

I gave my RM's away a few years ago.
I now wear the T Boot, about 90 bucks.
Pure leather, good moulded rubber sole, light , flexable, comfortable and
long lasting. Had this pair three years and still no sign of wear. I polish them regularly.
Elastic sided with shaped toe and they are a good riding and walking boot.
That one pair is the only shoe's that I possess, except for an old pair of sandshoes that I carry in the Disco that I use to walk creeks.
Oh yeh, the T Boot is just as comfortable without sox as with and the feet dont sweat !! I have retired my spurs and leggings but still use me
quart pot and stockwhip.

There was another thread about clothes.
I have about eight pair of shorts and one pair of Sunday best Maverick
stretch jeans, with RM belt, small knife and pocket watch pouches.
I dont own a watch. Thats it.

I dont own a button up shirt.
I wear those pull on t shirt thingy's with a collar and pocket.

I wear an Akubra Territory hat and I will add a Pith helmet in the near future. I will probably look a bit of a Dandy, what with me beaut Indian
mo, eh.

I could wrap my complete wardrobe in my swag and it would not bulge !!

Cheers.

Oh, my Bro bought me one of those beaut English Gentlemens cloth caps,
when I got the Disco. People tend to look sideways at me when I wear it
especially if I wear the boots without sox but they dont know that the jokes on them.:D
