It'd be making the insurance company cry I guess. Can't say I'm all that fond of Rollers, even though they be very British (back in that vintage anyway).

It must have had a lose and ended up in some water way or a dam:(

You'd strip that out and dry it. Drop and replace the fluids and have a crack. The Auto would be the scarry bit.

Same for the auto,, empty, run and empty a couple of times. Can even be flushed with kero,, (I'd be more worried about picking up crud from the bottom of the box, than the water issue).

These things loose value quicker than a Rangie, so I'd be suprised if it got to $10 000:(

There are two Rolls Royce's near here I know of. One in Mudgee and the other near Coolah. The Mudgee one has a bull bar fitted:twisted:
Bit like the big V8 Merc's no one seems to want them these days.

It has always been like this pretty much - if you can afford to run one, you can afford a new one! Same pretty much applies to any real luxury cars. Range Rovers are a bit of an exception, because as well as being a luxury car they are a very capable offroad vehicle.
The price goes down until it is so low that it compensates for the running costs enough that someone will buy it.

Just don't show SWMBO Justin. You will end up with ANOTHER project in the workshop. Lift kit and 4 x 4 conversion should get all the others on the school run talking and only take you a couple of days:angel::angel:

Now THAT, I must say is a one day purchase for me, last one I saw went for $54k, and they are getting cheaper all the time. I eventually bought my Lexus LS400 after seeing one new in 1992, got it 4 years ago for $24k, 100K on the clock 1 owner. I'm planning to do the same with a TurboR one day:twisted:

Prestige and "keeping up with the neighbours" comes into it. Not much prestige to be gained by posers and would-be's at the golf/polo/yacht/gentleman's club/posh private schools by being known as a used car buyer.
RR/Bentley are not worth much once they pass the 10 year age like pretty well all high priced luxos. the first BMW V12's were list $265,000. At three years approx value $150,000. Currently virtually worthless. I know a guy who bought (leased) a Lexus for $119,000, two year lease, 60% residual. Come two years the best trade-in was from Toyolexus at $49,000. Best from other luxo dealers was $39,000. The guy is a poser with no money, everything on the drip, and could not pay the shortfall in the residual so had to lease the car again.
Some of these vehicles will become collectables. the time frame for this is around the thirty year mark. Many modern cars will be horribly expensive restoration propositions, if not impossible.

Probably. At worst you may have to take the back seat out. :D

Have you ever seen the V12 Rangie conversion  Has a longer nose and retained the back seat:eek: Would under steer if driven hard I'd think.
