Does anyone know if you can change from windows to snow leopard.
I currently run window xp on my Toshiba notebook(also on my desktop).
Am considering changing over to snow leopard.
Is it possible???

I think that Apple operating systems will only run on Apple hardware, whose architecture is significantly different from the "standard" PC setup, even if they now use the same processor. When Apple first changed to the Intel processor it was initially considered impossible to run Windows on it, but there turned out to be workarounds that enabled it, and it is possible the same applies in the other direction - but I doubt it, as there is much less demand.
It is probably possible to install a virtual machine running under XP on your computer, and set up a virtual Mac on that, but with three layers of software, I can't imagine the performance would be stunning.

NO - leopard is for a Mac not for a windows machine. On new Macs you can run windows software through Bootcamp or via Parallels but you cannot run Mac OS on a Windows box.

Actually you can run OS X on your pc as long as it's INTEL. There is a heap of info out there to do it. It can be very successful but it's a lot of fiddling and takes some know-how which kind of defeats the purpose of OS X.
The advantages are you get all the benefits of OS X (Fast, reliable, virus free).
The disadvantages are that there may not be drivers available for your hardware. Also, you are doing something which Apple don't support. There is a chance that Apple will release a patch and kill your hackintosh!
Personally, I'd go LINUX myself before doing a hackintosh if you want to get away from all the windows problems.

theres also some emulators around but they are usually a "representative" for the OS so that some other software will run.
