My TD5 130 just about roasts me on a moderately warm day - with the aircon on! I surprised that the paint hasn't peeled off the seat mounts they get that hot. I suspect that heat is transmitted from the transmission so my question is how to be rid of it. Fit a cooler to the gearbox, insulate the floor, try and direct some air around the trans tunnel?
Any clues anyone?

on my 300 130 i always drive with the window open but my box doesn't get that hot.
speak to dave blknight he is the daddy and should know if it's normal for a td5.
You can get sound deadener for the bulkhead non land rover and if i buy a roll(for my bulkhead replacement) i'll let you have some to go round the top of the tunnel but ensure you still have plenty of air circulation regards andy

assuming you mean a kalgoolie kind of moderately warm day which equates to about bloody hot for the rest of us that'd be about normal but do yourself a favor and check the oil level and conditions of the box and tcase.
