..what was revolutionary about the Bristol Lodekka?
A ) Reg drove one. B ) First class passengers sat upstairs.
C ) Ultra low bottom floor gave lower overall height. D ) First driverless bus.
I don't think it would be B, that's not revoloutionary. first class passengers always sit up top.
It can't be D, despite numerous attempts by various operators, the union steadfastly refused to not man them in this configuration.
So that narrows it down to A or C, I'm thinking that although skillful, Pilot Reg's stunts weren't exactly revoloutionary.........so lock in C, please Grockle; yep I go for C.
:p;)

Good try Ian,C it is, low floor due to the drop centre rear axle givng high bridge room in a low bridge height.
Reg Varney drove a Bristol KSW again bodied by ECW of Lowestoft which was loaned from Eastern Counties a pre Lodekka model, common to all BET companies.

My Grandad came from Lowestoft, before I was born. He moved to Aylesbury when his employers relocated their business.
