In the wonderfull relationship I am having with Landies this year, I have noticed the following cross wirings in my Defender 130.
The right tail light circuit fuse takes out all right side lights and the dash lights. The left takes out the left side and the coolant and fuel guages.
Now the latest. The vehicle started getting sluggish and missing at idle and the guages were oscilating with the timing of the indicator. Quick check on the nanocom while driving shows me that the charging circuit is not charging. No charge light on dash though, so no warning. The 130 has been sitting around while I have been driving the stage 1, and when moving it the other night I noticed NO reverse lights and no brake lights. I was getting no batt light when turning on the ignition, so I had dismantled the dash to check the batt bulb only to find 2 leds. No luck there. I had left the vehicle contemplating having to spend big bucks on a new alternator and what to do about the batt light.
I just checked the stop light fuse and it was broken. Changed it and guess what? I have brake lights, reverse lights and the vehicle batt light. You guessed it, the vehicle is now charging again:eek:
Great idea there. NOT.
Now I have to find out why my stage 1 is not charging and the Batt light is not coming on. Comes on with the key, but goes out and definately no charge:(
