See if this works.

Extractors, straight through muffler in 1 5/8 inch (from memory).

Yea Baby!

should bark nicely around 3,,,,

allow for a bit of LR cam softness and maybe a crackle or two on over-run???;)

Open road cruise is not too loud , in my opinion.

Being a straight through muffler design, when the foot is buried in the carpet (often ) it is LOUD.

Lots of bark, but not as much crackle on over run as I thought it might have.

The D2 has very good sound insulation,,
am quite tempted now to remove the stock resonator---

Sounds good Jon,

I got a system fitted to my 308 WB that sounded HOT:twisted:
It was using the original manifolds, but 2 1/4" primary pipes, running parralel back into a twin inlet single outlet hi flow muffler, then 2 1/2" single to the rear, rear section was bent up the same shape as factory WB ute including a 2 1/2" resonator, so looked stock except for the diameter:cool:

Sounded like an HDT commodore, sweet, deep resonant note.

Miss that ute:(

My last 308 ute had twin 2.5 inch with straight through mufflers and no resonators. Balance pipe up the front. Used to rattle windows and set off car alarms...:twisted::twisted:

The ute I am building at the moment is going to be a 355 stroker. Probably have a similar exhaust though .

This is what my County sounded like before the diesel replaced the 4.2 V8 >>>>>>>>>>>> http://www.geocities.com/rijidijau/v8_sound.mp3

And therein lies the problem with diesel conversions...

I could live with the diesel smell, the narrow power band, the good economy, etc, etc.

I just don't know how I would live without the V8 sound! :p

Maybe when my V8 ute is on the road I can convert my Rangie to diesel, but not before.

If I think about it, every car I have owned for "everyday use" since I was 19 has been a V8 and I am now nearly 35...

I just watched my video again. Two observations.

Nice body movement with the torque of the engine :D.
How loud is my external fuel pump? It is the whine you can hear towards the end of the video as the engine comes back to idle.
