I recall there was a thread recently about how senator fielding had deftly slayed Australia's leading greenhouse scientists.

The people who jumped on that bandwagon may wish to read this:
'Fiskal' Fielding has 'learning difficulty' | National News | News.com.au (http://www.news.com.au/story/0,27574,26043837-421,00.html)

Reminds me of the graffiti on the toilet wall at uni:
"when I came hear I couldn't spell Ingenear and now I is one"

Dont know much about sen fielding but would prefer an honest polly to a well spoken one any day. I hate being spoken down to somthing many politications and Public servants seem to do these days:(

To be fair to the bloke his scepticism of Global Warming is founded in some genuine doubt rather than his political ideology which I admire even if you don't agree with his stance.

And as for the spelling boo-boo kal is a perfectly reasonable phonetic spelling of fiscal. English can be such a bastard of a language.

Half the younger teachers today can't spell and I doubt that many uni students can, either.

I know a guy who has a PhD in biochemistry and couldn't spell to save his life. He now teaches at a Canadian university.

He's brilliant in his field, though!

Annabel Crabb has a great little commentary on Steve Fielding's faux pas in today's SMH.

I am neither for or against senator Fielding, the one thing it does highlight is the questionable ability of politicians to denegrate others instead of focussing on the job of running the country.

What a bunch of school kids:mad:. If this was a high school and they picked on someone for their pronuciation they would be called bullies both the media and other pollies, every body knew what he was talking about does how he speaks make any difference, i thought there were imortant things the govt should be doing and the media reporting I must be mistaken.
