Yeah very sad to hear.

Similar thing happened at one of the 4WD parks uop this way a year or so ago
When it coes dwn to it a seat belt is on the the best safety devics available.
Especially on an "ease of use" vs benefit comparison.

Very sorry to hear about that mate :(

I was guilty of not wearing seat belts whilst in the bush. Now I do, but what I also sometimes do if place the belt that come accross your chest behind me, so basically I still can move my torso but the belt is locked around my waist. A good compromise I think...

Sorry to hear,

May I add, for airbag equipped vehicles,
do NOT let your passenger put their feet on the dash. An activation will cause massive internal injuries, or death, from their knees being driven into their chest.

Again sorry for your loss.

A while ago, my wife and I were travelling through the central Victorian highlands and were stopped at a police breathalyser point. I was a good boy and blew 00 and as it was very quiet on the road, we started chatting to the Senior Constable. He mentioned to us that he attended an MVA (car crash) earlier that day... It was a P38 that had rolled about 7 or 8 times down an embankment and both of the occupants were ok, but the P38 was totalled :( He reckons that the seatbelts saved their lives as well.

It's always bad when you hear of someone being hurt or worse, sorry about your mate.

Regards,
Mick.

I see that quite often.

I had one of my passengers try it in MY car. I was rather annoyed that he'd even consider doing it in my car.
