Hi,

I've just semi-successfully fitted a Fusion CE-SS200 alarm to my '95 Disco V8 auto, which now opens my doors remotely. I've only one step left to do, so my question concerns the door pin switch input wire on the alarm. It comes with two wires +ve input and -ve input. My research seems to have determined that I should use the -ve input wire, but I'm not totally sure which loom wire I should connect this to. Further research for a RRC suggest using the purple/blue wire in the steering column, but that there is a choice of two - one for the front doors with no time delay and the other for all 5 doors with time delay. I'm looking to activate the alarm when any door opens and can add a delay to the alarm passive arming to counter this. I thought that the wire to the ignition switch lamp would be easiest.

I guess what I'm looking for is someone to confirm the use of the -ve door pin switch input wire and to suggest the best wire (colour) and location to connect this to.

Things were so much simpler with the old style voltage drop alarms!

Thanks in advance!

Thought I'd post a reply in case anyone has this problem in the future. The Disco has -ve (negative) door triggers.

The best wire I found does come from the ignition switch lamp and is purple with a white stripe - DON'T confuse it with the white with purple stripe or purple with brown stripe wires though.

You can do a simple test - the other 3 purple wires are constant +ve and the purple/white only goes +ve when the doors are opened - hence why it's a negative trigger.

Hope this helps some poor bugger in the future.

PM me if you need any help with your alarm install and I'll try to remember what I did - I do have some notes....
