Hi all....
I've been noticing a fair amount of oil around the front of the cylinder head where the camshaft sprocket access plug is (the black plastic plug about 60 mm in diameter) and further inspection revealed that it was loose - it came out quite easily, and it didnt even have an o ring on it! (manual says there is supposed to be one).
Has anyone had this problem and/or solution? Dont have an o ring so could i get away with a bit of RTV in the meantime, and can anyone recommend a supplier for this elusive part?
Cheers

The plug has a part number on it I believe, if not it is easily obtainable from LR etc. I have used a good quality sealnt on these before, but without an O ring there I'd try and get a new one anyway.
Never seen one with the O ring missing, they are usually just floating about as the Oring goes hard, and a little bit of Wurth 250 sealant and all is well again:)

any bearing place like cbc would have an o ring that would do the job have you tried repco? or super cheap

Hi'
There should be an O ring.
It's around 5mm thick, my old one looks flat across face on the plug(It leaks too).
If you can't find one easy give me a yell and i'll meashure the new one in my VRS kit so you can sourse it from a bearing suplier or simalar.
Cheers.

Thanks for the help guys....i stand corrected...the o ring is there but its gone so hard i mistook it for part of the plug!
Therte's a few bearing places near work so i'll try there...
in the meantime will RTV or sikaflex work? (this is all I have)
