Hi.
Due to PO's lack of maintenance the rear drive shaft slip joint on my 90 was seized and has destroyed the pinion bearings. The 90 is fitted with a maxidrive differential.
Where can i purchase the drive pinion setting block, the setting block has 3 height settings which one is correct for the maxidrive.
Thanks

After some searching have found the Land Rover special service tool for adjusting the differential pinion height, made by Churchill tools in England but for the cost of the tool i will make my own.

if youre just changing bearings the pinion height should not need changing. when its reassembled check the backlash and check the wear pattern with engineers blue.

you can guess and giggle the whole setup with just the bearing blue but it takes a few goes.
the block is just a fixed height block and from memory its dimensions are in the landrover service manual for the sII-III

churchills don't really exist any more they are SPX and SPX in Australia do not deal with you unless you are a business.
Although Churchill SPX in the u.k. try and steer you onto the Aussie counterparts you may well be able to purchase from them.

This is the link where i found the LR SST's but as i have stated in my previous post it is way too expensive for me and i will spend some time and make the setting block as i now have the dimensions and already have a dial indicator.
